Hail to The Mighty Outlands!
Though it seems like it has been forever since we have all met on the field of battle, the horns of battle will sound again. Though we do not have a certain date of when, we warriors of The Outlands must stand vigilant for that day when it comes. As such, we will be working hard to address the situation of expired fighter authorizations, across all martial activities, so that when this plague has ended, we can all get right back to doing what we love.
First and foremost, we will be changing the colors of authorization cards, so that there is no confusion about what is up to date and what is expired. As such, everyone will be needing a new card, which we will be happy to take care of for you as follows depending on your current Authorization:
Group A) If your authorization, be it Heavies, Lights, or Equestrian, expired prior to March of 2020, you will need to reauthorize as normal. We will be addressing authorizations in the coming months, so look forward to that news when it comes out, but for now, please send us pictures of your expired card so that we can get you into the new system just like the other the other groups.
Group B) If your Authorization expired during the shutdown (between March 2020 and May 2021) you can send us a picture (front and back) or your expired authorization card and a picture (front and back) of your membership card and we will get you renewed in the system and get the newly updated cards out to you! Please be sure to include a mailing address in your email so we can get you the new card!
Group C) For any whose Authorizations will still be good by the time of reopening, you will have three months after we reopen to get reauthorized before your card expires, regardless of the date printed on the card. You can do that now if you like by following the rules for Group B, or after we reopen.
To any who are interested in being Authorizing Marshals on the reopening, please email the Earl Knight Marshal with a petition and we will be in contact with you! There will be many changes coming to make our authorization system easier, more efficient, and most of all safer for us all.
Emails should be sent to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. for both Authorizing Marshal Petitions and Reauthorizations.
Thank you all for your efforts in making this a smooth transition. Stay safe, keep fighting, and we will see you all sooner than you think.
OUTLANDS!!!!

Good people of the Outlands harken to the words of Béla and Nerissa, King and Queen of these noble lands.
We wanted to take a moment to say thank you to all of Our Kingdom, Baronial, Shire, Canton, and College officers for all of your continued hard work and dedication to your local groups and Kingdom! Our officer core is amazing and We can’t thank you all enough for what you do. We know things are hard and it’s not as fun to do all of this work when we are not able to gather for events and activities so We are grateful for all of your continued service. We would especially like to thank Jarl Freana Geardson for his service as Kingdom Seneschal. We appreciate all he has done and hope that he enjoys his much-needed free time as We release him from his duties of that office. Jarl Freana has served the Kingdom well and has earned his respite. We would like to announce that Honorable Lady Cristiane Woayde as the new Kingdom Seneschal. We look forward to working with Her Ladyship and We know she will do a great job in that office. Please join Us in saying thank you to these good gentles, and all of the officers of the Outlands, HUZZAH!
If you would like to help with any office, now is a great time to reach out and volunteer to help. We know there are officers in need of deputies as well as offices that need to be filled on all levels. Being an officer is a great way to give back and to learn the inner workings of the Kingdom. Another group of people that has been continually working hard for all of our benefit are the Dean and the Board of Directors for the Royal Outlands Interkingdom University. They have updated the charter and have continued to provide an opportunity for people to teach and learn new skill on various aspects and activities. If you have not already done so you should check out their webpage at https://www.roiu.outlands.org/ for a complete look at what all the ROIU has to offer.
Lastly but certainly not least, We would like to say thank you to Our Barons and Baronesses looking after Our beloved Baronies. We know and understand just how hard all of you are working for your groups. We are honored to be able to be serving the Kingdom with you all as Our Landed Nobles. Your love and leadership are inspiring and We can’t thank you enough for all that you do! We know all of this is hard and it is rough not getting to spend time with people who mean so much to us. We will persevere, we will get through this, we will be stronger once this is over. Until then, keep being your awesome selves, keep leading by example, keep looking out for each other, and stay safe. We love you all,

Warm Greetings Unto the Known World!
As the world continues to grapple with the consequences of COVID-19, and as the Society has officially closed activities through January of 2021, We have spent many hours carefully weighing the balance between Our desire to see everyone and revel again with the responsibilities, in terms of both health and financial considerations.
Knowing that Estrella War is scheduled to occur just days after the proposed reopening of the Society, We must conclude that the responsible decision is to postpone War to a time that is hopefully safer for everyone. At this time, We would like to announce that Estrella War 2021 is being postponed until November 2021. Further information will be published as it becomes available.
We know that this news will be disappointing to many, who were hoping to gather with friends and family at War in just a few short months. We share in the disappointment, but truly believe that keeping Our populace healthy is far more important in the long term. We know that the additional time to prepare will serve to make War that much sweeter come November.

Good people of the Outlands hear now these words from Your Sovereign Lord and Lady, Béla and Nerissa, King and Queen of these lands.
As many of you are by now aware the Board of Directors has determined that no in person events shall take place in North America until January 31st, 2021 without getting a variance to do so. We are sure this was a hard decision for them to make, however We feel it was right and just for them to do so. We fully support this decision as the safety and well being of all or Our populace is Our primary focus right now. We applaud the Board of Directors and the Society Seneschal for putting all our wellbeing at the forefront and making this difficult decision. We thank them for what they have done for all of us this day.
We will continue to monitor things on a Kingdom and local level to see if there are opportunities to have small, socially distant activities that would allow people to participate in the SCA while remaining safe from exposure to covid-19. If We believe it is safe to do so We will make appropriate announcements at that time. We encourage everyone to continue using other mediums such as zoom, YouTube and Facebook to continue to stay connected to friends and to learn new skills or hone those ones you already possess.
Our Windhover Bard has organized a virtual Bardic competition to find his replacement. The first part of this will continue as scheduled We will discuss what to do about the finals and make that decision known to you all in the very near future. If you have desire to compete for the Windhover Bard position, please continue to follow the instructions put in place by Lord Ronan. If you have any questions about it reach out to him or post in the Kingdom group to get things sorted out. We would also like to take a moment and say thank you to Sir Thomas and all who have added something to his slow bardic idea, they have all been wonderful to watch and we look forward to seeing more entries!
We know that these days are difficult on all of us. We all would rather be at events with our friends and families. Until we are able to meet again in person continue to be strong of heart and character. Continue to care for one another and to be supportive and remember that we are all under a lot of stress. Continue to check in on friends and loved ones. Continue to learn and practice the courtly graces and the art of chivalry in all that you do.
All Our love,

We, Béla King by right of arms and Nerissa Queen by grace and favor send heartfelt greetings to the glorious Outlands.
As things continue to change and evolve, We have continued to monitor the situation. Our Kingdom Seneschal has reached out to various government agencies throughout the Outlands to keep up to date with restrictions and requirements for gatherings and events. The Outlands is comprised of multiple States and this makes things more difficult as the rules and regulations are different in each State. While it is possible to have larger gatherings in some parts of the Kingdom than others, We feel it is best if decisions are made with the strictest rules in mind. We would not want to encourage members of Our populace to break the rules where they are because of their desire or want to go to an event in a different part of the Kingdom. We would not be ok with even one member getting sick because We said it was ok to host an event or practice.
With this in mind, We would make it known that We are extending the cancelation of all official SCA events, meetings, practices and gatherings until the end of August. We appreciate all the hard work that autocrats and local officers have put in to plan events and try to give the Outlands something We can all do together safely. We just feel that the risk is still too great to allow anything official to occur. We remain hopeful that things will change, and we will be able to start getting back to normal, with events and local practices and guild meetings in the not too distant future.
We are also looking into ways of limiting event attendance and ways of ensuring that those who attend follow social distancing measures and wear masks to make things as safe as possible. It is very likely that when things do start back up there will be a requirement to preregister for events to ensure that we do not exceed the number of attendees allotted for each event. We remain hopeful that We will be able to have Crown Tournament and Find Our rightful Heirs in September. Remember that if you wish to compete for that honor a letter of intent is required and it should contain a list of all events both the fighter and the consort have been too from Estella War 2019 through Estrella War 2020, as well as the usual requirements found in Kingdom Law. These letters of intent are due no later than midnight on the 28th of August.
Until we can come together again as a Kingdom, remember to be kind to each other. Continue to practice social distancing, wear masks, and wash your hands often. Continue to check up on each other and to help each other where you are able. We miss you all and We cannot wait to be able to see you again!

We, Béla King by right of arms and Nerissa Queen by grace and favor send heartfelt greetings to the glorious Outlands.
We hope this missive finds you all in good health and good spirits. We know that We would all rather be making last minute preparations for Battlemoor but that is not to be this year. While We miss you all and are sad that We will get very few, if any, opportunities to be with you this summer, We are still very proud of how Our Kingdom has continued to follow social distancing and health guidelines, even while performing their civic duties to stand up and fight against injustices that plague our modern society. Thank you all for having civil conversations about topics of great importance, where passions run high. No society or Kingdom is perfect, but through civil discourse and a dialogue of honest and hard conversations we can all move things in a positive direction. Thank you all for making Our jobs easier.
As you all are aware, there are positions of great honor in Our Court that are determined by a competition. The current Kingdom Champions in the various disciplines are:
Royal Archer: Lord Louchelan de Hay
Kingdom Equestrian Champion: Mistress Arabella da Siena
Kingdom Arts and Sciences Champion: The Honorable Lady Marion Forrester
Windhover Bard: Lord Ronan na f-Fiacal mac Conaill
Warlord: Duke Darius of Jaxartes
All these fine gentles have continued to perform their duties and have done much to help their respective communities. Their continued dedication to their fields of endeavor and to the Outlands is worthy of Our praise and admiration and deserves Our love and respect.
These positions are typically held for a year and then a new Champion is found. Unfortunately, with the cancelation of so many events, the competitions to find new champions have been canceled as well. We have reached out to all Our Champions and had conversations with how to best move forward for them and their positions.
It has been decided that Mistress Arabella and Lord Louchelan will remain as Champions until a new Champion can be found at Battlemoor in 2021. We thank them for being willing to continue the duties and responsibilities of their position!
Our Windhover Bard, Lord Ronan has served the Outlands wonderfully and has decided that it is best to find a new Windhover Bard. We thank him for his dedication to the Outlands, his willingness to perform story time with the children during Our courts, and his passion for the bardic arts. We understand his decision and We support it, to that end We will be hosting two regional bardic competitions through digital means. This will allow Us to find a regional winner from the south and the north, those regional winners will perform in person at Fall Crown Tournament where the new Windhover Bard will be chosen. Please look for announcements from Lord Ronan with the details on how to enter each of the regional competitions. We look forward to seeing and hearing the best the Outlands bards have to offer during the process to find a worthy successor!
Our Warlord, Duke Jaxx, who is in Our Opinion, the greatest Warlord ever, shall remain as Warlord. His Grace will find a suitable event next summer in which to find someone worthy to carry Thunderhead in Our court. However, as his Grace is a man of action and does not wish to rest as Warlord it has been decided that starting in October, should any fighter feel they would make a better Warlord than Duke Jaxx, they may petition the Warlord and the Crown for the right to challenge for the position. Should your petition be found to have merit and be worthy, you will face Duke Jaxx in honorable combat with seven different weapon styles. This will be fought best two out of three per weapon style and the victor will be the first combatant to win 4 weapon styles. A maximum of one petition will be accepted per month. Should the petitioner be victorious, they will assume the duties and responsibilities of Warlord, including finding a suitable location and time to host a tournament to find their replacement in the summer of 2021. We have all faith in Our Warlord and expect that he will be planning that tournament.
Our Kingdom Arts and Sciences Champion, Honorable Lady Marion Forrester has graciously agreed to continue as Champion until this fall. We have consulted with Our Kingdom A&S Minister as well as many people in the A&S community and have decided that moving forward the Outlands will hold A&S competitions in the fall and collegiums in the spring. This will better allow for artists to create master works for the Kingdom competition and then take those works to Estrella War as well. We feel that this arrangement will make it easier for Our artisans and hopefully increase participation at all levels. We would like to thank Her Ladyship Marion for sharing her love and joy of the ats and sciences with any who would wish to learn!
All Our Champions have served the Outlands well and We are indebted to them for their hard work and love of the Outlands! We are very much looking forward to when we can all be together once more. Until then, continue to be kind, continue to look out for one another, and continue to shine as examples of courtesy, hospitality, and chivalry!!

We, Béla King by right of arms and Nerissa Queen by grace and favor send heartfelt greetings to the glorious Outlands.
Oh, how We miss being able to camp and sit around a fire and enjoy the fellowship of Our populace. We miss being able to watch tournaments and fight in melees. We miss getting to go to the archery range or the equestrian field. We miss seeing artisan’s lane and learning new skills in person. We miss falling asleep to the sound of drums. We miss seeing all your smiling faces at court. We miss hearing the Stag Choir and story time with the children. We miss so much of what makes the Outlands great. We know that you all miss these things as well.
We are thankful for the many different and creative ways that have been found to continue learning and growth in so many areas. It is truly wonderful to see all the classes and how-to videos, as well as the interview type shows that have sprung up to fill the void created by missing events. These and so many more resources have been amazing to try and help with the loss of being able to come together as a group and enjoy the current middle ages.
One thing within the Kingdom which has really taken off is the Royal Outlands Interkingdom University. We would like to thank all the previous members of the Board of Directors of the University for their hard work and dedication to help keep it going through the years. We would like to thank all who have taught or taken classes through the University as well. At this time, We would like to present to you the current Board of Directors for the Royal Outlands Interkingdom University, Master Hassan al Tariq ibn Yusuf ibn Askari al Ghassani al Jibayli will serve as the Dean of the University. He is joined by, Mistress Thorhalla Bjarnadottir, Bantiarna Gráinne Ṡocair, Lord Frosti Grímarsson, and Lord Reynard des Roches as the complete Board of Directors. Please join Us in saying thank you to them and the teachers for helping make the University grow! If you have any questions or are willing to help moving forward you can contact these fine members.
We would like to thank Our officers, of all levels for continued service and dedication to their many offices. We understand that things are a little harder right now on them and We very much appreciate all that they do. Some of Our officers have worked for a very long time and due for some deserved rest and relaxation. At this time, We would announce that Sir Lothar vom Bergenwald has stepped down as Kingdom Earl Marshal, Your Excellency you have Our gratitude and thanks for your service to the Outlands. The new Kingdom Earl Marshal is Sir Adrien de Calais with Sir Samuel de Grace serving as second in command and drop-dead deputy. We thank you for your willingness to serve the Outlands in this capacity!
The scribes of the Outlands have always been impressive with their skills and dedication to creating amazing works of art for the Crown and landed Nobles to give out with awards. The Honorable Lady Perryn Coelbrant has served the Outlands dutifully and faithfully for the last several years and has earned a much-needed rest from those duties. We thank Her Ladyship for all her hard work as the Kingdom Scribe. At this time, We would like to announce that Lord Cuhelyn of Northanhymbre is the new Kingdom Scribe. We look forward to working with him in the coming months as We get back to being able to have events.
We are very much looking forward to when we can all come together at events and practices and guild meetings. Until that time, We would remind you all that the SCA should be a place of welcoming and inclusiveness. We should celebrate our diversity and be mindful of how our words and deeds affect others. There is no place in the Outlands for hate, bigotry, misogyny, prejudice, or intolerance due to religious or political beliefs. We know that not all of us feel the same way about every topic and that is expected, and it is how things should be. It is not ok to treat anyone poorly because you have a different view of the world than them. We are all Outlanders, we have more in common than we have differences. Our love and study of the middle ages is what brings us together as a community. Let us all be mindful of these points as we interact with each other digitally. Let us remember that communication through online means is often open to interpretation due to not being able to hear inflection or tone of voice, as well as not being able to see facial expressions and body language. Remember to be kind to each other and to treat each other with respect.
Please continue to be vigilant in defense against covid-19. Continue to look out for one another and lend each other support where you can. In all things, remember the core values of the society, courtesy, honor, and integrity. Continue to check in on your friends and loved ones. We are proud to be Your Crown. We are proud to see so many of you helping in so many amazing ways. You have all done so much to give Us hope for a much brighter future. Thank you.

We, Béla King by right of arms and Nerissa Queen by grace and favor send greetings!
It is with a heavy heart that We must inform you all that Battlemoor is postponed until 2021. We would like to say thank you to the Event Stewards and their staff, as well as to the BAM for all their continued hard work and flexibility in trying to make this event happen in 2020. We know it has been a strain and very stressful to deal with the changing landscape of dealing with this pandemic. The Event Stewards have graciously agreed to stay on and work for the 2021 Battlemoor, thank you all for your hard work and dedication to the Kingdom!
Sadly, this also means that Crown and Coronation will need to be postponed again as well. After seeking council from Our advisors, Our Officers, and Our Peers, We have asked for and been granted a variance from the Board of Directors. At this time, We would like it known that We will be hosting Fall Crown as scheduled in September, with the intent of finding Our rightful heirs and then We shall step down at Fall Coronation in November. To this end We will be opening the list for Crown tournament and ask all who would vie for the honor to submit your letters of intent no later than midnight MST on August 28th. In addition to what is required in Kingdom Law your letter should include a list of events that the fighter and consort have attended from the time period of Estrella War 2019 to Estrella War 2020.
We understand that this is new and unique in Our great Kingdom’s history. It is a difficult situation for all of us. We feel that this course of action is best for the Outlands and We thank all Our officers, Landed Nobles, Event Stewards, and populace for your strength of character, hard work, and continued love and support of the Outlands. We will get through this. We will be stronger for it.
At this time, We are also extending the cancelation of all official SCA events, meetings and gatherings until July 31st. We know that some states are starting to open up and allow for more activities and We will continue to monitor the situation and make changes to these plans as needed. We very much look forward to the time when we can all come together and have events and practices and guild meetings again. We thank you all for doing your part to help make that happen by following social distancing guidelines and protocols. The many good works and deeds of Our populace during this time continue to fill Our hearts with joy and pride. The Outlands is truly the greatest Kingdom in the Known World and We are so grateful and honored to be Your Crown.

We, Bèla King by right of arms and Nerissa Queen by grace and favor send greetings!
Today We are writing so that all may know of the efforts of Mistress Morgan and THL Lêofsige (Lyssa) on the Royal University. The reviving of the University has been such a joy for many while in quarantine and it has brought Us so much joy to see so many people pursue degrees from The Royal University during this uncertain time.
Mistress Morgan and THL Lêofsige (Lyssa), Thank you for revitalizing interest in the Royal University after it had lain dormant for so many years, and for fulfilling a great need during these difficult times.
With the Royal University being on hiatus for such an extended period of time it has become necessary to update the charter, the board and for a new Dean to be selected. To continue operating the University these updates must happen as soon as possible. It is Our sincerest hope that the Royal University is able to continue operating and see historic growth. We are very excited for this time of Renaissance. We are currently seeking members of the populace to fill the board and to help with the recharter. Ideally we would have board members from the South and the North so that both areas feel represented on the board. Please submit your letter of interest to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. Thank you again to these amazing gentles who have championed the Arts and Science during this trying time.

Good people of the Outlands harken to the words of Béla and Nerissa, King and Queen of these noble lands.
We hope this missive finds all Our populace in good spirits and good health. We find ourselves in the position of once again having to postpone Crown and Coronation that had been rescheduled for June. We want nothing more than to be able to have events and get back to some semblance of normal, but the risk is still too great to try to host any events at this time. Also, We have to take into account the guidelines that are being used for ALL of the Kingdom, Colorado, New Mexico, Wyoming, Texas, and Nebraska. Things are being handled differently in the various states and those guidelines, along with recommendations from the CDC and the WHO are the driving forces behind Our decisions. We need to be sure that when we are all able to come together, it will be safe for Our populace, and any visitors who may come to Our events, as well as safe for the local community that is hosting the event. We would not want Our event to place an undue burden on any health care providers or hospitals wherever we are able to gather at events.
At this time, We are going to tentatively pencil in Crown and Coronation to take place at Battlemoor, with the understanding that there is a very real chance that it too will be postponed or cancelled. Many people have asked why We have not gone ahead and pulled the plug and cancelled Battlemoor, especially after events like Pennsic and West/An Tir War have been canceled and Lillies War has been moved to the fall. We feel that by continuing to plan for Battlemoor happening as scheduled We are giving Ourselves, Our officers, Our Landed Nobles, and Our autocrats the most options moving forward. These are tough times and hard decisions and there are a lot of people who are continuing to work hard to plan things for the time when we can have events. We will continue to monitor the situation as states start to slowly open up and allow more activities. We will always make the decision that We feel is the best and most safe for the Outlands. We will continue planning for Battlemoor with the hope that it will happen as scheduled but with the knowledge that We will cancel it if We feel it is unsafe to have the event. At this time, the list for Crown is still limited to only those who had previously been accepted for the March date. If We have to postpone yet again, We will open the list again and announce a new date for letters of intent.
We would like to take a moment and say thank you to all the members of Our populace that are essential workers, health care providers, first responders who continue to put themselves at risk for their community. A huge thank you to everyone practicing social distancing and shelter in place orders and especially those who have taken the time to make masks or help their neighbors out in a time of crisis. You all fill Our hearts with such joy and pride! We have never been prouder to be the Crown of the Outlands!
We look forward to getting to have events again. We look forward to when we can all come together and celebrate the Outlands and the current middle ages. We miss all of you terribly and cannot wait to sit around the fire, hear the drums playing and just enjoy our fellowship. We hope that you are all taking this time to work on projects, to make the cool new things or learn amazing new skills. We are really looking forward to seeing all of that on display when we can meet again!
Until then please remember, stay safe, be smart, and continue to look out for your neighbor. Together, we can get through this. Together we are strong. Together we are OUTLANDS!!!

Good people of the Outlands harken to the words of Béla and Nerissa, King and Queen of these noble lands.
We hope this missive finds all Our populace in good spirits and good health. We know that these are hard times for a lot of us. We have a lot of health care professionals and other essential workers who have been putting their own health at risk for the good of the community and continue to be heroes in the face of danger. We have members who have followed the shelter in place orders to the letter and are helping flatten the curve so we can all go back to normal sooner. We know that tensions are high, there is a lot of anxiety at the uncertainty of the future. People are worried about their friends, family and loved ones. Worried about the economy and the long-term effects of a prolonged shut down. Worried about being able to provide food and shelter for themselves and their families. Worried about what the world will look like when this is over. All these things are natural and understandable, and We are feeling them Ourselves. We also worry about the health and well being of ALL Our populace members. We worry that removing restrictions on gatherings and events will unduly put people in danger and jeopardize their lives.
We know that some states are loosening restrictions and are opening some more businesses and facilities on a limited basis. However, gatherings of people are still very much limited to less than ten people. The WHO and the CDC are still recommending that people continue to shelter in place as much as possible and not gather in large groups. We have decided to follow the advice of the experts and extend the ban on organized SCA activities in the Outlands through the end of May. This counts for in person gatherings such as events, fighter practices, guild meetings, archery practices and officer and populace meetings. We encourage people to have as many of those meetings as you can in an online setting through social media or one of the many video chat platforms. To that end Her Royal Majesty is having an online Queen’s Prize Arts and Sciences competition this month. We would love to see all the amazing works of art that you all have been working on!! Look on the Kingdom webpage and the Kingdom Facebook page for information on how to enter and display your works.
We will continue to monitor the situation and adjust the official stance on in person meetings and events as is necessary moving forward. We are very much looking forward to the time when we can all come together as a Kingdom and celebrate each other and what it means to be an Outlander. It has been Our great honor to be your Crown, even in these uncertain times. You all inspire Us to be better every day! Your generosity of spirit, compassion for your fellow man and fierceness of determination have helped Us more than We can ever express to you. Thank you all!!

Good people of the Outlands harken to the words of Béla and Nerissa, King and Queen of these noble lands.
We hope this missive finds all Our populace in good spirits and good health during these trying times. We are very proud of how Our officers and landed Nobles have been dealing with the stress of this pandemic. We know this is hard on everyone, but We are glad to see so many people reaching out to each other through various digital means, checking in, teaching, learning, having philosophy conversations. Thank you all for taking this threat seriously and acting accordingly.
It is with a heavy heart that We have decided to postpone Crown and Coronation once again. We feel that trying to hold it on the first weekend in May would put people in danger and that is something We can not ever do. We are working hard with Our officers, autocrats, and the SCA Board of Directors to ensure that when We are able to host Crown and Coronation that everyone will be safe first and foremost. We have had several people suggest that We host Crown with just the combatants and marshals and few people needed to run the tournament. While We applaud people for thinking outside the box and trying to come up with creative solutions to this problem, We are not willing to do that for many reasons, including We feel this would still endanger Our populace. We also would much rather wait for when this pandemic clears up and We can all come together as a Kingdom and enjoy the splendor and spectacle of Crown and Coronation. We are looking at trying to put things together for a June Crown and Coronation. If you have any suggestions for a site or location please reach out to Ourselves, Our Seneschal Jarl Freana, or Our landed Nobles with your ideas.
In the meantime, keep being safe and checking in on each other. Take this time to work on some projects that you have been putting off, learn a skill you have always wanted to learn, repair your armor and weapons. Continue to be kind to each other, help those who need it by making supply runs if you are able. Together We will get through this and be stronger for having gone through this crucible.
In service to the Outlands,

3/19/20 Words from Their Majesties
- Details
Good people of the Outlands hear these words from Béla and Nerissa, King and Queen of these fair lands.
As most of you know the SCA Board of Directors are recommending that all SCA activities and events be suspended until April 30th. We agree with this recommendation and are hereby suspending all organized activities in the Outlands until April 30th.
We understand this puts a strain on local groups and We encourage them to think outside the box and find some ways to hole virtual officers, business, or guild meetings when possible. We have lots of tools to stay connected with each other using various social media platforms. Reach out to your friends often. Keep in contact using those platforms, or by calling them or sending an old-fashioned letter or card.
We would like to clarify something that We keep getting questions about. We are still planning on having Crown and Coronation on the first weekend in May. It is very likely that this will need to be pushed back some, but it is Our intent to hold it as soon as is reasonable and possible. Several people have reached out to ask if new letters of intent will be accepted for this Crown Tournament. At this time, We will not be reopening the list for Crown. The published list of fighters and consorts will be who gets the honor to fight to become Our rightful Heirs. Should things change, the event gets pushed back farther, accepted fighters and consorts withdraw from fighting, then We will reassess as needed and announce that We are reopening the list at that time.
We appreciate everyone who has reached out to offer your services to the Kingdom in this time of uncertainty. We are firm in Our convictions that together, the Outlands will prevail. We look forward to when things can go back to normal. Until that happens, stay safe, be smart, care for each other and be mindful of others when purchasing resources.
