A&S General Board or Individual Topics? was created by Mathom
Should we have a catch-all category for A&S then split off popular categories, such as Cooking, Dancing, etc?
I added all the forums I could find on Yahoo, then added the A&S as a after-thought. Don't know if there is too much overlap.
What do y'all think?

I would like a board/forum specifically for the local A&S ministers (like our Yahoogroup); I see that you added that: thank you! I'm not sure if we need boards/forums (fora?) for specific interests at this time. We do have guilds that may want to have their own board or forum (like the Caerthen Cooks' guild or the Outlands' Moneyers' Guild), but I leave that to the individual guild-ministers to make that determination.
We also have a Yahoogroup set up for members of the Order of the Flower (the grant-level A&S order). I will check with the members on that Yahoogroup, to see if they want to stay at Yahoo or transition to here.

OK thanks for that info-
My intention is not to force anybody off of anything, just to provide additional venues that are not 3rd party and that make sense to be in association with the Kingdom site. That may not be true for all groups.
I was thinking about making Chivalry, Defense, Laurel, and Pelican sub-boards under the Peers heading. We could make another heading for Grants and put in groups for Order of the Flower, as well as the other grant level groups I'm not aware of.
What do you think of that?

I, for one, would like to just have one area for local A&S ministers to communicate with each other. Right now, we use Yahoo!Groups, because it's available. But it's not ideal.
I polled the Flower Yahoo!Group, to see if they want to move to the Kingdom forum or stay on Yahoo!Groups.
There is also a Stag Yahoo!Group. And a Pelican, a Chivalry, and a Laurel...
Not sure what other orders have Yahoo!Groups.

I made a board for A&S here:
prototype.outlands.org/index.php/forum/a...ters-of-the-outlands
It's kinda buried, but I am going to alphabetize that list so things are easier to find.
Thanks!

Yes, I found it. Thanks! When can I start using it with my locals?

Well, we are still on prototype, so i wouldn't want it to be a move just yet - but if you have a group who want to try it out and see how they like it, if it's practical, etc. I'm no opposed to giving them access.
It should be with the understanding this is not in general use and things are not in their final positions, but it might give us some test subjects (muhahaha!), I mean volunteer testers to bounce ideas off of.

...after the prototype is approved for use, I will move it to outlands.org.. When that happens, any links to prototype.outlands.org will be broken, so I want to minimize that.
Also, we usually wipe out the forum database and start with something fresh. We can keep all, some, or none of the old database (forum posts).

I'm good with waiting until it's approved. What's the time-frame for that?

well, I'm thinking the minimum functional site would have all the Officer pages done plus the Royalty Page and a few other requirements by SCA/Kingdom Law.
Let me review the minimum requirements for a site to be considered official and get back to you on that.
It's been taking 1-2 weeks per office but I think we just need the Greater Officers to start with. It just takes time to go back and forth with the communications. I think I can recruit at least one deputy (Lady Barberrie is experienced in this type of Content Management System - she's my Deputy Shire Webminister) to help speed things up.
Maybe 2 months? Maybe a month? I don't want to put out something half-baked.
